RecruiterReply ("the Extension") is a Chrome extension that helps recruiters draft AI-assisted
email replies inside Gmail. This policy explains what data the Extension accesses and how it
is handled.
Data We Access
Email thread content: The Extension reads the visible text of the currently open Gmail thread solely to generate a contextual reply. This content is sent to your self-hosted backend server.
User settings: Your name, company name, and backend URL are stored locally in Chrome's chrome.storage.sync (tied to your Google account for sync). We do not receive or store this data on any server we operate.
How Data Is Used
Email thread text is transmitted to the backend URL you configure (which you host yourself) for the sole purpose of generating a draft reply via the Anthropic Claude API.
No email content is stored, logged, or retained by the Extension or by any server operated by the Extension authors.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or email content with any third parties,
except as required to operate the service (i.e., forwarding thread text to the Anthropic API
via your backend).
Data Retention
The Extension does not retain any email content. Settings stored in chrome.storage.sync
are controlled by you and can be deleted at any time by removing the Extension.
Permissions
activeTab / host permission for mail.google.com: Required to read the email thread and inject the reply buttons into Gmail.
storage: Required to save your name, company, and backend URL between sessions.
Children's Privacy
This Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. The effective date at the top will reflect any changes.
